The message Neymar reportedly sent to Real Madrid stars about why it’s ‘hell’ to play with Kylian Mbappé

Kylian Mbappé has finally found his feet in LaLiga with three goals from his last two games, two of them from the penalty spot, as his Real Madrid career takes off.

The Frenchman was a high-profile free agent last summer, ending the long-running saga over his move to leave his former club Paris Saint-Germain and join Los Blancos in Spain.

While all eyes are now on him to succeed in a strong forward line that also includes Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, with Jude Bellingham in midfield, a former team-mate is less than complimentary about the France captain – according to a report from France.

Neymar was part of another all-star attacking line at PSG with Mbappe, while Lionel Messi was also at the club at the time – but Neymar has apparently told the current group of Brazil stars at the Santiago Bernabeu that it was “hell” playing alongside the younger member of that group.

No real details are given as to why there was some friction between the two, what effect it had on them or whether Mbappé actually felt the same way. It must be said that a journalist and broadcaster in France attributes Neymar’s words to him.

“The Brazilians (at Real Madrid) are friends with Neymar,” Cyril Hanouna told Europe 1, according to the Mirror. “It has always been a war between Neymar and Mbappe. Neymar sent a (letter) about Mbappe to the Brazilians, telling them it was catastrophic, it was hell.”

Whether it was due to successive head coaches failing to find the right mix that would lead PSG to European success, or simply a clash of egos that led to this ‘war’, it is clear that the duo have since taken very different career paths.

Neymar left PSG for Saudi Arabia over a year ago, but he only played five games for Al Hilal before tearing his anterior cruciate ligament and is still sidelined for his recovery.

Mbappe, meanwhile, will be hoping to add to Real Madrid’s record-breaking title run in the revamped Champions League this season, in the hunt for the Ballon d’Or that Neymar long hoped for but ultimately never won.
