Ryan Seacrest is set to officially make his debut on “Wheel of Fortune” and his co-host Vanna White admits she was a little nervous at first.

White worked with host Pat Sajak for more than 40 years and said she “had no idea what to expect” when Seacrest took over the role.

“I mean, being around one person for so long, I was really scared, but he’s doing great,” White said on this weekend’s episode of “CBS Sunday Morning.”

This likely comes as a relief to fans, as rumors circulated back in June that White was considering quitting.Wheel of Fortune” due to discomfort with Seacrest, despite him having signed a contract in the fall to appear through the show’s 2025-2026 season. However, the 67-year-old appeared to try to defuse speculation of a split with an Instagram post in July.

“Friends on and off camera. Enjoying one of our favorites, Chicken and Dumplings!” White captioned a photo of her and her new co-host out to dinner together on Instagram.

Seacrest told “CBS Sunday Morning” that he jumped at the chance to host such a beloved show.

“This is such an incredible, special franchise. It’s more than a TV show. It’s something that means something to people and when I found out this was an opportunity for me, there was no thought attached to it, it was like, absolutely. Let’s figure it out and let’s get started.”

However, the 49-year-old admitted that he had a lot to learn and had to put in the effort to do well.

“Wherever I was working, sometimes the producers would come and bring contestants. We would play ‘Wheel of Fortune’ in hotels, just to get familiar with the rules and the scenarios and the things that could happen. At a certain point, it became second nature,” Seacrest said.

Last year, Sajak announced he was retiring after 41 seasons as host of the hit series. Shortly after, the series announced that Seacrest would replace the television legend.

In July, Seacrest shared a behind-the-scenes look at his first day on the set of “Wheel of Fortune” via an Instagram post.

“A glimpse into my first day at @wheeloffortune and I’m still spinning with excitement!” he captioned the video.

“My heart is pounding. I’m so excited,” Seacrest admitted. Later in the video, he revealed, “You know, I couldn’t sleep last night, I was so excited. I slept fine, but I was still really excited for the alarm to go off.”

Seacrest, who also hosts “American Idol,” told “CBS Sunday Morning” that he doesn’t know if he’s reached “Ryan Seacrest’s peak,” but he did say he’s “fully absorbed.”
