  • On CB Jalen Ramsey: McDaniel didn’t specify the injury but still gave Ramsey credit for his contributions. “I’ve never been more proud of a player that doesn’t practice, honestly,” he added. He knows how important he is to the team.
  • On the team that has had two good Septembers under him: “What you see in the first month is probably 230-something days from the last time you were in. In that time, from one season to the next, you see what people have put in (in terms of work) and how their play is from last year to this year.”
  • On the ‘F’ position on the depth chart (Alec Ingold, Jonnu Smith): It’s a versatile position. Simply put, good football players who can block, catch, run, etc.
  • Praises Tua Tagovailoa’s leadership style, which has been universally praised by teammates. Says Tua is just honest, is himself, and that players respond to that authenticity. Tagovailoa was just named team captain for 2024.
