$1 Million Powerball Winner Sold for Drawing Held on 09/04/24

LANSING, MI — For the second time in the past two weeks, a winning $1 million Powerball ticket has been sold in Michigan. Someone matched all five white numbers drawn (7-10-21-33-59) and won the prize.

The winning ticket was sold at the Shell gas station at 32919 Cherry Hill Rd, Westland. The winner now has one year to contact the Michigan Lottery Player Relations department at 1-844-917-6325 to make arrangements to claim the prize. Winning Powerball tickets must be claimed within one year of the drawing date.

The last Michigan player to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot was the Breakfast Club lottery club, which claimed an $842 million jackpot in June 2024. Members plan to use the money to buy a home in Florida and travel.

And while they were lucky winners, players would be wise to check their tickets right away, as a $1 million Mega Millions winner sold in Southfield in 2023 went unclaimed. The money instead went to the state’s School Aid Fund.
