Cowboys vs. Browns Best Anytime Touchdown Scorer Picks for NFL Week 1 (Bet on CeeDee)

One of the best NFL games on Sunday is between the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns, with Dallas being a slight underdog in this away game.

Both teams expect to make the play-offs after reaching the finals in the 2023 season. Moreover, they have many key players returning in 2024.

Who should we bet on to score a touchdown?

CeeDee Lamb, who just signed a new contract, is an easy player for the Cowboys, but the rest of the roster is still unclear.

I’m focusing on two pass catchers and a running back because they are the best TD scorers in this game.

Chances via DraftKings Sportsbook.

CeeDee Lamb All-time TD scorer (+130)

The Cowboys finally paid Lamb, showing they value his career accomplishments, especially his stellar 2023 season.

In 2023, Lamb caught 12 scores and made 135 catches on a whopping 181 targets. Oh, and by the way, he had 1,749 receiving yards.

We know Lamb is going to be the focal point of Dallas’ offense, and even against Cleveland’s strong defense, he’s an absolute steal.

A big reason for that is the uncertainty in Dallas’ backfield with Ezekiel Elliott, Rico Dowdle and Dalvin Cook all expected to see action on the ground. I’d rather go with Lamb in this market because we know he’ll get the ball his way multiple times on Sunday.

Jake Ferguson All-time TD scorer (+225)

If Lamb doesn’t make it to the end zone, I think tight end Jake Ferguson scores for Dallas.

Ferguson had 102 targets, 71 catches and five scores in the 2023 season, playing a consistent role week in and week out for Dallas.

The Browns have an elite defense, but they allowed 23 passing touchdowns last season — putting them in the middle of the NFL.

At +225, Ferguson is worth a shot in Week 1.

Jerome Ford All-time TD scorer (+130)

Nick Chubb will begin the season on the PUP list for the Browns, meaning Jerome Ford will handle the bulk of the work in the backfield, just like last season.

Ford scored four times on the ground and five times through the air in the 2023 season, averaging 3.99 yards per attempt.

He wasn’t super efficient, but Ford averaged 12.0 carries and 2.6 receptions per game, giving him a solid base of touches to get into the end zone.

Given that Deshaun Watson has struggled during his time in Cleveland, I’d rather bet on a running back to score than a pass catcher for the Browns in Week 1.
