Illinois couple wins $3 million after buying scratch-off lottery ticket at suburban grocery store

CARY, Ill. – A lucky couple is $3 million richer after winning a huge prize on a scratch-off lottery ticket in a Chicago suburb!

The scratch-off ticket was purchased at Volume Liquors, located at 382 Northwest Highway in Cary.

“I bought four Instant Tickets at my local supermarket, and the last one I scratched open was the winning ticket!” said the winner, who asked to remain anonymous. “I was absolutely shocked, but my wife’s reaction was one of disbelief, and that remained the case until the day we claimed our prize.”

Apparently the couple had purchased the Titanium Black 7s ticket for a very specific reason!

“The game was called Titanium 7s, and believe me, my birthday is on 7-7-77?” said the winner.

The winners indicated that they want to use the money to save for their children’s education, to build up their pension and to go on holiday more often with the family!

Volume Liquors will also receive $30,000 for selling the winning ticket.

So far this year, more than 43 million Illinois Lottery Instant Tickets have been sold, with players winning more than $1.1 billion in prizes.
