Miller earned two degrees from SMU, a BBA in finance and an MBA. As an undergraduate, he was a three-year starter and letterman on the varsity basketball team and a member of the 1971-72 Southwest Conference Co-Championship team. Mr. Miller received Distinguished Alumni Awards from the Cox School of Business in 2000 and from the university in 2011. He and his wife, Carolyn, have donated millions to support the university and have left a lasting mark on the Hilltop.
