America has talent has been enhanced with a new inspiring ‘golden buzzer’ moment!

During the September 3 episode of the hit talent show, Sebastián and Sonia, a duo from Barcelona, Spain, proved that the show must go on after Sonia injured her arm during rehearsals. Despite the setback, Sebastián performed a solo routine to Shawn Mendes’ “In My Blood.”

As he twirled, spun and performed gravity-defying aerial acrobatics, the audience gave Sebastián a standing ovation as they watched in awe. When he finished his routine, Sonia joined him on stage and they shared a kiss before being praised by judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel.

Sebastian on “America’s Got Talent”

“A lot of people would have given up,” Simon said, before asking rhetorically, “How can you do this act with two people with one person and still make it incredible?”

“Honestly, I think most people would say, you know what, we had an accident and that’s why we can’t continue. But you did the opposite, you continued,” he added.

As the fans’ cheers grew louder, Simon said that Sebastián deserved a special mention, not “just because” of Sonia’s accident, but because his performance was “the best reaction we’ve had so far.” He then pressed the coveted golden buzzer for the night.

Gold confetti fell and Simon walked onto the stage to hug the overjoyed duo and congratulate them on Sebastián’s performance.

Sonia and Sebastian in “America’s Got Talent”

When host Terry Crews asked Sebastián how he felt, he replied, “Right now we feel like it was all worth it. It was a really tough day, I only had three days to (put this act together) and I (wanted to) just do the best I could.”

Terry then spoke to Simon, who explained why he felt the duo deserved the top honour of the evening.

“That’s the definition of courage. You don’t give up, you don’t,” he said, before giving fans a glimpse of the brief words he exchanged with the pair. “I just said, are you going to make it to the final? And she said yes, so that was by far the best thing tonight.”
