Cannonier is MMA Fighting’s No. 7 ranked middleweight contender in the world. A onetime UFC title challenger, Cannonier enters Saturday night in desperate need of a win to keep his championship hopes alive after suffering a fourth-round knockout loss to Nassourdine Imavov in June. Cannonier has long been a contender at 185 pounds, having earned wins over Marvin Vettori, Sean Strickland, Anderson Silva and Derek Brunson, but at 40 years old, the time is now if “Tha Killa Gorilla” wants to earn his second shot at the UFC belt.

Borralho is on the other end of the spectrum. Unranked in MMA Fighting’s middleweight rankings, the Fighting Nerds representative enters UFC Vegas 96 on the verge of a breakout moment after a perfect 6-0 start to his octagon career. Borralho opened the eyes of many in the division in May when he promised to knock out Paul Craig and did so in stunning fashion. Now, the 31-year-old Brazilian looks to put his name squarely in the title picture.
