More than 7,000 MidAmerican customers in Davenport experiencing power issues Monday morning

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – Thousands of MidAmerican customers were affected by brief power outages and other power issues Monday morning.

According to MidAmerican, crews in the area have begun planned work on a substation in Davenport.

Officials reported that during the work, a part of a transmission source broke.

The outage at 8:55 a.m. affected about 7,300 customers in Davenport for 13 minutes, with some losing power completely and others experiencing a drop in voltage, MidAmerican said.

MidAmerican reported that crews were able to restore the transmission source and no further power outages are expected.
